We are really proud of the way our teams performed this season at NARCH (North American Roller Hockey Championships) & WIHA Finals (Western Inline Hockey Assc.) Here are some teams deserving special praise for their accomplishments over the course of the season:
Bantam Black winning the Gold medal at NARCH Winternationals in San Jose
(first place out of 10 teams).
Pee Wees winning the Gold medal in Pee Wee Silver at WIHA finals in Irvine
Midgets winning the Silver medal in NARCH Midget Gold Division (second place out of 18
teams). They lost the final in a 5-4 overtime heartbreaker.
Pee Wees winning the Bronze medal in NARCH Midget Silver Division (third place out of 22 teams). They lost the semifinal in a 6-5 overtime heartbreaker after storming back from a 5-2 deficit in the last 7 minutes.
Bantam White making the playoffs at NARCH and winning their first playoff game before losing 2-0 in the Bantam Silver quarterfinal game.
Summer Youth Championship Game Recaps
The last place 6-8 Islanders shocked the CSHA 6-8 world , first knocking off the heavily favored Psyclones and then defeating the Red Wings 3-2 to win the championship. The Red Wings refused to quit, scoring 2 goals in the last 2 minutes but coming up short.
The 9-11 game was a slugfest between the #1 seeded Coyotes and the #2 seeded Islanders. It was a back and forth battle with the Coyotes scoring 2 in the first & the Islanders coming back to tie the game 3-3 at the end of 2 periods. The Coyotes scored 3 unanswered in the third but the Islanders closed the gap to 6-5 in the final 45 seconds. The Coyotes hung on to win a 6-5 thriller.
An amazing 15-17 final was played between the WC Stars & the Islanders, who appeared to have the game in hand until Nico Bautista tied it up with 7 seconds remaining! To cap it off, Nico scored the game winner 51 seconds into overtime
& the Stars win it 5-4!
